The Applications You Need on the Computer You Like

Are you currently using a Windows PC because you need applications that are not available for the Mac, but you want to run one of our applications like DEVONthink or DEVONagent? Is 'Mac only' a dealbreaker for you? It shouldn't be. Have a look at the screenshot above! Using a virtualization solution like Parallels Desktop for Mac, VMware Fusion, or Code Weavers CrossOver Mac you can run Windows or even only Windows applications on top of the Mac OS X operating system.

Parallels Desktop and VMware Fusion are not emulators. They use the existing Intel processor and PC hardware of current Macs to run Windows in an "abstraction layer." In addition, they integrate the applications running in Windows with the standard Mac OS X deskop so that you don't even have to switch back and forth from Mac OS X to Windows. CrossOver even goes a step farther and provides Windows applications with the environment they expect but without the unneeded rest of the Windows operating system. This approach doesn't work for all applications but there is a long list of applications known to work.

What does this mean for you? It means that almost all Windows application (now including even games or other software that needs 3D acceleration) run nicely side-by-side with native Mac applications on one computer like with DEVONthink or DEVONagent.
